Secondary school allocation results
Parents and carers will from today (2 March) be able to check their applications to see whether their applications for children transferring to secondary school (years 7 and 9) have been successful.
Nearly 99% of applicants have been offered their first choice of secondary school for pupils moving into year 7 and 94% for year 9. The overall figure of 97.2% is on a par with last year’s figures.
Councillor Clare Sutton, Cabinet Portfolio Member for Children’s Services, Education and Skills, welcomed the news: “I am delighted that so many families have got their first preference, meaning that our children will be going to local schools.
“As these students get ready to start their educational journey in September, I want to wish them all the best for a successful and fulfilling experience.”
The allocations will be sent to families by email during the day.
Parents and carers who have not received their first preference can appeal to the council. For further details visit: Appeal a school admission decision - Dorset Council .
