Bridport Harbour Dredging - Access Update

Essential maintenance dredging is taking place at Bridport Harbour to support vessel access, safe navigation and the long‑term operation of the harbour.
This is needed to support safe navigation and the long‑term operation of the harbour. To allow this work to be carried out safely, there will be some temporary access restrictions over the coming days.
Planned works and closures, starting today, Tuesday 21 April
Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 April
- East Pier closed for lifting operations
- Slipway area closed on Tuesday for lifting operations.
Thursday 23 and Friday 24 April
- West Pier and West Beach closed to install the dredging discharge pipe.
From Saturday 25 April
- Dredging operations will begin.
West Beach
- West Beach will remain closed from Thursday 23 April for the full dredging programme, which is expected to last around 12–14 days.
Harbour access
- The harbour will stay open throughout the works
- Access may be restricted at times when the dredger is working in specific areas
- Please follow local signage and any instructions from harbour staff.
