Overview
If you want to take bookings for, and dispatch private hire vehicles and private hire drivers you will need a private hire taxi operator licence.
A private hire operator licence costs £440 for a 5 year licence or £130 for 1 year licence.

How to apply
Before you begin your application you need to read the Taxi Licensing Policy.
You will need the following to complete this application:
- a valid passport, birth certificate or share code - to evidence your right to work in the UK
- information about your drivers and their vehicles including:
- their operator licence
- their personal driver licence
- evidence of your public liability insurance
After you apply
Once you have applied and paid for your licence, you will need to contact us to arrange a basic criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). You don't need to do this if you already have a Taxi Driver's Licence with us.
