If you control a non-domestic premises you must ensure that you notify us of any cooling tower or evaporative condenser (notifiable devices) on the premises.

We keep a register of cooling towers located within the council areas to help protect against Legionnaires Disease. The regulations relevant to this licence are the Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992.

Any changes to your original registration need to be put in writing and submitted to us within one month of the change being made. If the device ceases to be notifiable you must notify us in writing as soon as possible.

Tacit consent

Registration requests will normally be dealt with in 10 working days. You will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from the local authority by the end of the target completion period.
